PRESS RELEASE FOR EMO 2013: INCREASED TORQUE DENSITY WITH LIGHTWEIGHT SAFETY COUPLINGS
With the introduction of the SL series in 2010, coupling manufacturer, R+W Antriebselemente GmbH, has revolutionized safety coupling design. The lightweight construction, afforded by high tech materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, has been widely accepted by engineers throughout the world.
These special materials and surface treatments allow for a weight reduction of up to 60% in comparison with the standard versions. The power dense safety coupling is available in 4 different body sizes for both direct and indirect drives, with disengagement torques ranging from 10 – 700Nm. The standard offering includes integral torsionally stiff bellows couplings, vibration damping elastomer couplings, or simple flange outputs for attaching sprockets, sheaves, gears, pulleys and hand wheels, to name a few.
As of 2013 the SL product family is now also available in a full disengagement version for higher operating speeds. With the introduction of the free-wheeling version of the SL, R+W has reached yet another milestone in product innovation.
