Torque Limiters and flexible Shaft Couplings made of stainless steel

FAQ - Line Shaft, flexible Shaft Coupling and Torque Limiter

Bellows Couplings

Q) What causes bellows couplings to fail?
A) The most common failure in bellows couplings is caused by parallel shaft misalignment in excess of the coupling’s maximum tolerance. While bellows couplings offer a very low restoring force on shaft bearings when compared to other flex couplings, their own tolerance for shaft offset normally does not exceed 0.010 inch. A small line shaft with double bellows however can be a much more flexible coupling, increasing offset tolerance often by over 10 times.
